Our members also perform military drill demonstra-tions, parades and movie productions. Several of our members have participated in Hollywood productions or educational films such as “North-South,” “Lincoln,” “The Day Lincoln was Shot,” “Andersonville,” “The Love Letter,” PBS “Field of Lost Shoes,” Civil War Combat,” “Little Round Top" and "Cold Mountain.”

In 1992 our members traveled to Pennsylvania to portray General John Buford’s cavalry in the epic film, “Gettysburg.” While on the set for several weeks, our members played alongside Sam Elliott, who portrayed General Buford. Several members were also portrayed alongside General Jeb Stuart’s staff. In 2001 members of the unit helped depict the 1st Virginia Cavalry at Manassas in Ted Turner’s epic, “Gods and Generals.”
